Tip: 121 Waist: 79 Tail: 107
Pros: All mountain carver; little bit better in fall line bumps than its big brother, the Crimson.
Cons: Heavier skier might not feel enough float for all mountain conditions.
Comments: Mainly a front side ski yet wide enough for the occasional foray into the bowls.

Testers happily welcomed Atomic’s new Nomads, a free-spirited collection of all-mountain skis. The Black Eye will be the most useful Atomic for a broad range of experts. It’s damp and powerful, but never lifeless or unruly. It loves high-speed arcing, but put up impressive scores for Rebound Energy. Also cool: You can buy any Nomad flat ($925 for the Black Eye). "A more maneuverable Atomic than recent vintages," said Hogen.
