JUNIOR TRADE IN PROGRAM—GEAR THAT ‘GROWS’ WITH YOUTH

Denver, Colorado, Oct. 28, 2011—The Junior Trade In program has been going strong in Colorado for 28 years and was designed for skiing and riding families to keep their growing kids in annually updated equipment at a budget-friendly price. Junior Trade In is available for Colorado kids at all five Colorado Ski & Golf stores and Boulder Ski Deals including the newest location opening in Park Meadows in mid-November.

    This uniquely affordable ski rental program was created to insure that children’s equipment is as modestly priced as possible. After the first season’s rental, a complete package for used equipment that includes skis, boots and poles is only $49.99 per year. A mandatory binding check adds $15. Equipment can be exchanged as often as needed during the season to make sure the size and fit remains comfortable—free. The first year kids are registered in Junior Trade In, the cost is $99.99 for used equipment and then each year, a refit into a different set of used equipment is 50 percent off--$49.99. The deal remains in effect for as long as the child continues to rent through the Colorado Ski & Golf program.

The same great deal is also available on new equipment with the net cost after the first year only $99.99.  Setups for the first year start at $199.  Kids can keep their equipment for an additional season and return it for a 30 percent discount on updated gear after two seasons of usage.   Similar deals are available for snowboarders at $99.99 for used equipment and $199.99 for new equipment that includes a full snowboard setup with boots and deck. The 50 percent discount goes into effect the second year of rentals.

About the Recycling Program

• Bring unwanted skis, snowboards, cross-country skis, boots, poles and
  bindings to any Colorado Ski and Golf location
• Equipment in good condition will be donated to charitable programs
• Unusable equipment will be shredded and used to make new products
• A $1 fee for skis and snowboards and a $1 fee for boots will be charged
  to new equipment purchases*
• There is no charge for recycling equipment and no purchase is necessary

  *Shoppers who do not want to contribute may opt out of the donation
